Right, I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing about the American election, especially as I don't get a vote, but ...

I have a Dalek.

More accurately, I have a clockwork Dalek. With a big key to wind it up and an exceptionally cute head.

It goes round in circles and falls off table tops.

...yes, I met Morrissey. Well. I nearly did. Well, I didn't nearly meet him at all, because actually, I was standing ten or so metres away. But the point is; I saw Morrissey and I heard Morrissey and now I just might die with a smile on my face after all.

No, really, seeing Morrissey made up for the mildly stressful train journey there, the six awful hours stuck in a remarkably dire venue surrounded by unnecessarily cheerful looking people who were gyrating to needlessly abysmal music in the beer tent...

...in fact, thinking back, the fact that I saw Morrissey also makes up for the stupendously terrible train journey home. And considering [info]i_am_a_wallet and I got stranded in York for five or six hours in the middle of the night (the entire city of York appears to close at 10pm. So much for Viking nightlife) and had to go to Casualty in order to get cheap and nasty tea from the vending machine there, that's saying something. I was a bit snappish, alas. Well, alas for the people nearby, I ENJOY grumbling and I want the world to know about it.

Although when the first wave of utter exhaustion passed away (at about half two Monday morning) we did entertain ourselves by playing the Claim Game. I now own most of the churches, pubs and chocolate shops in the city. Oh, and a really spooky house. Score. (also, gary? you're quite welcome to 'bagnall' because I am not jealous in the slightest! so there!)

Oh, Morrissey gave us history lessons. Itwassocute. And I can't actually SAY anything intelligent about it all, because I have nothing to say that isn't high pitched, breathless, excited and decidedly gooey. Daddy!

I am no longer a Morrissey-virgin. \:D/ !!11omg!!

(oh, and other news, I started work okay yesterday afternoon, despite the whole being-stranded-miles-and-miles-away thing. and it is a jewel of a job. I get paid to sit in a chair and bash away merrily at a computer keyboard for a couple of hours a day. oh, and I don't have to deal with anything that isn't made of microchips and electricity and pure pristine computer-goodness. Life good.)

I had to skip 140+ entries on my friendslist this morning just to catch up with what you people have been doing over the weekend. My, but you're a busy lot. *exhausted*

(.....he played Rubber Ring. *dead from glee*)

(......and Let Me Kiss You. *dead from more glee*)

Must go to sleep now, because I'm utterly wrecked. Amazing how tiring sitting at a computer typing '453L' and '3744' and 'NT' over and over again is...oh, I have the shoddiest security pass EVER. it's PINK and looks really half-hearted. so much for the Inland Revenue and their high security levels.)

Need sleep!
